Dr. Nicholas D’Elia is an AHPRA accredited specialist cardiologist, recognized by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.  He practices in all areas of adult cardiology.

Nicholas completed medical school at the University of Tasmania with full clinical honours, followed by an internship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Queensland. Nicholas then returned to Melbourne and completed his basic physician training at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. This was followed by two years of advanced training at The Western Hospital, and a third year of advanced training at Bendigo Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. Nicholas is currently completing a fellowship in advanced cardiac device management and electrophysiology at The Alfred Hospital in addition to a PhD supported by the National Heart Foundation and NHMRC.

Nicholas has a strong track record with research in cardiovascular disease – having published multiple studies  in world leading journals. His work now forms the basis for international guidelines.

Outside of work Nicholas enjoys staying fit, and spending time with his young family and rambunctious Labrador.
