Adam’s areas of special interest include all forms of non-invasive cardiac imaging modalities, cardiovascular risk assessment, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and chest pain syndromes.
Dr Adam Gay graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2000 on the Dean’s Honour List for academic excellence. He then returned to Victoria where he completed physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He subsequently completed his cardiology training at Monash Heart in 2006.
Following this Dr Gay was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award and completed a year of research at Austin Hospital investigating endothelial dysfunction and novel markers of cardiac disease. Dr Gay completed his formal cardiology training with a dedicated fellowship in echocardiography at Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2008.
Dr Gay currently holds a public appointment as the Deputy Director of Cardiology at Western Health. He also has appointments at Melbourne Private Hospital, John Fawkner Private Hospital, Western Private Hospital and Epworth Richmond. Dr Gay has private rooms in Niddrie and Flemington.
In 2014 Dr Gay founded One Heart Cardiology with the purpose of providing tertiary hospital level of expertise with the efficiency and convenience of private practice. Dr Gay’s areas of special interest include: all forms of non-invasive cardiac imaging modalities, cardiovascular risk assessment, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and chest pain syndromes.
