The video is recorded from an actual AF ablation procedure using the CARTO-3 mapping system. We use the 3D mapping system to move our catheters without the use of X-rays. We can see exactly how much force is generated with at the tip of our ablation catheter and which direction we are moving (arrow).
1) An ablation catheter is used to cauterise the tissue around the pulmonary veins (PV). Ablation lesions (red dots) are delivered to electrically isolate the PVs from the rest of the LA.
2) A circular mapping catheter is used to map the electrical activity inside the pulmonary veins.
