1) In order to perform the AF ablation we use a fine needle to create 2 small holes to allow passage of the catheters from the Right Atrium (RA) to the Left Atrium (LA).

2) This shows the back view of the left atrium during an AF ablation. We cauterise tissue around the pulmonary veins- this is shown as red dots.

3) This shows the front view of the LA during an AF ablation.

4) Sometimes we need to perform ablation between the pulmonary veins.
