Karen completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Critical care, specialising in cardiology in 2000. Her background includes facilitating the cardiac rehab program at RMH for 3 years, Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the cardiology/Coronary care Unit for 5 years before working as Nurse Unit Manager of the Cardiac Unit. Karen has also participated in research conducted by the electrophysiology team at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and has a thorough understanding of the research process. Karen recently completed her Nurse Practitioner candidature at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in the management of cardiac rhythm disorders.
Karen has extensive experience in management of all cardiac conditions and their underlying pathologies. She has been a part of the Cardiology team at the Royal Melbourne Hospital since 2007 and recently completed her Masters of Advanced Nursing Practice at Melbourne University. Karen sees the patient as the focus of what we do and is empathetic and caring as well as professional in all her dealings with patients, staff and family members.
