Dr Louise Segan is a consultant cardiologist and clinical electrophysiologist at the Alfred Hospital. She is completing a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology1 through the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and the University of Melbourne under the supervision of Professor Peter Kistler, Professor Jon Kaman and A/Prof Sandeep Prabhu.
Dr Segan’s research focuses on optimising outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure well as focusing on improving recognition of the important role of lifestyle modification in AF management.
Dr Segan specializes in management of heart rhythm disorders including cardiac device implantation and monitoring and ablation procedures.
