INTRODUCTION

Dr Flaim is a cardiologist specialising in ultrasound imaging including stress echocardiography, and also has interests in heart failure and the effects of cancer and cancer treatments on the heart.

 

BACKGROUND

Brendan studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne and undertook his Cardiology training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, including a Fellowship in Echocardiography.

He has public hospital appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital. At St Vincent’s (public) Hospital his duties include providing transoesophageal echocardiogram imaging during structural heart interventions such as percutaneous valve implantation and closures of septal defects (holes in the heart), as well as general heart ultrasound reporting. Dr Flaim also works at St Vincent’s Private Hospital, providing stress testing, and is involved again in providing imaging support to cardiologists performing structural heart and rhythm treatment procedures.

Having spent the last few years concentrating on cardiac ultrasound, Brendan is pleased to be returning to consulting cardiology and joining the team at One Heart.
